Practical training and handling experience in a minimum of five related canine activities
Instructors and Advisors come from such a wide range of interests and QIDTI members will be listed with their specific areas of teaching expertise. Personal knowledge of at least five activities is required, encouraging a range of practical experience and an appreciation of the skills involved in other disciplines. Personal knowledge should be interpreted as having at least a basic understanding of a discipline through exposure, not necessarily actual involvement

A minimum level of teaching / advising of the dog-owning public and or training enthusiasts
A minimum of five years of specific contact teaching experience is required to gain the award for Qualified Membership, albeit varying massively from a couple of hours a week as a voluntary activity for a great many very competent Instructors / Advisors, to
a full-time career / business for others

Applicants must also pass / have passed a full on-site practical and oral assessment of applied skills in their area(s) of expertise
It is relatively easy to attend a course and pass a test, and quite something else to provide the reliable client service required by the QIDTI award

  1. Register with RCDTBP, set up profile account and produce a ‘public statement’
  2. Confirm and we will immediately register you as a QIDTI Student member,
and we will send you a link to the private QIDTI face book group
  3. Complete John Rogerson’s free modular education programme
  4. Complete your RCDTBP profile
  5. Apply for QIDTI accreditation when ready and eligible
